The legal saga between Bill Cosby and one of his accusers, Donna Motsinger, has taken another dramatic turn. Cosby’s team attempted to introduce evidence suggesting that Donna’s son, Jeff, struggled with alcoholism and childhood trauma, hoping to use it to cast doubt on his testimony.
But Donna’s lawyers fired back, saying the defense has no expert to connect Jeff’s alleged drinking or trauma to his memory. According to the filings, this means any such evidence should be deemed irrelevant and excluded from the case.
Motsinger claims that Cosby drugged and raped her back in 1972. Court documents reference Cosby’s own deposition, where he admitted to obtaining Quaaludes from a gynecologist during a poker game, intending to give them to women for sexual purposes. Donna alleges she was given a pill she thought was aspirin, felt strange afterward, and woke up the next day in her bed wearing only her underwear.
Cosby previously served nearly three years in prison for aggravated indecent assault, but his conviction was overturned in 2021 by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court due to a prosecutorial agreement that promised he wouldn’t be charged. The case continues to unfold, with every new filing adding another twist to the decades-old allegations.#newsafro_
