Sarah Jessica Parker offered rare public commentary regarding her three children with husband Matthew Broderick while delivering remarks during an awards-season appearance.
The 60-year-old actress, who shares son James Wilkie, 23, and 16-year-old twin daughters Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge Broderick with Broderick, addressed her family while accepting the Golden Globes’ Carol Burnett Award at the Golden Eve primetime special held on January 6.
During her acceptance speech, Parker publicly acknowledged Broderick, who presented the honorary award alongside close friends and colleagues, and made particular reference to their children, noting that their eldest son was present at the event. In an emotional address, she expressed appreciation for her husband of nearly three decades and credited him with professional inspiration and personal support.
Turning to their children, Parker spoke with visible emotion, stating that she deeply loves and admires the individuals they are becoming and expressed her hope to continually make them proud both personally and professionally.
Parker also extended acknowledgments to her parents, longtime collaborators, and her Sex and the City co-stars, reflecting on her early career, her Broadway beginnings, and more than two decades working with the ensemble cast. She further paid tribute to Carol Burnett, whom she described as a formative influence on her career.
