Mr. Aaron Phypers, aged fifty-two, has asserted in recently filed pleadings before the Los Angeles court that Ms. Denise Richards made materially untruthful statements concerning his conduct for the improper purpose of impairing his ability to secure court-ordered spousal support.
According to Mr. Phypers, Ms. Richards sought the issuance of a domestic violence restraining order against him, which he contends was calculated to prejudice his financial claims in the dissolution proceedings.
In his declaration to the court, Mr. Phypers stated: “I believe this entire domestic violence proceeding is merely a ruse to try to cut me off from being able to obtain spousal support.”
It is further recorded that Mr. Phypers requested spousal support contemporaneously with his filing for dissolution of marriage from Ms. Richards, the actress known for her role in Wild Things, in June of this year.
The actress, Ms. Denise Richards, aged fifty-four and originally from Downers Grove, Illinois, has, in turn, submitted pleadings requesting that the court compel Mr. Aaron Phypers to provide spousal support, while simultaneously seeking an order precluding him from pursuing any claim for support against her.
According to filings reviewed by People, Mr. Phypers advised the court that he presently lacks any source of income and alleged that Ms. Richards, notwithstanding her position as the principal financial provider, has subjected him to harassment concerning monetary issues. In his declaration, Mr. Phypers asserted: “She is the one who has income and she should be paying support to me.”
Mr. Phypers further alleged that Ms. Richards has engaged in persistent telephone communications with him and has enlisted family and friends to solicit his return calls, conduct which he characterizes as harassment and inconsistent with her claims of fear. He contends that such actions demonstrate that Ms. Richards is not intimidated by him but is, rather, the aggressor in the relationship.
Additionally, Mr. Phypers alleged that Ms. Richards, during the course of their six-year marriage, placed an AirTag device on his vehicle to surveil his movements, physically assaulted him on multiple occasions, and otherwise harassed him.
Ms. Richards, who made her initial appearance in the dissolution proceedings on September 8, was, pursuant to a judicial order, granted access to a residence in Los Angeles County previously shared with Mr. Phypers.
Pursuant to recent court filings, the presiding judge authorized Ms. Denise Richards to enter the former marital residence on Saturday for the limited purpose of retrieving personal belongings, specifically identified as property belonging to both herself and her late mother, as well as family pets.
In contrast, Mr. Aaron Phypers remains subject to an existing judicial order requiring him to maintain a distance of no less than one hundred (100) yards from the premises. That restriction was first imposed in July pursuant to a temporary restraining order previously granted to Ms. Richards, known for her role in Starship Troopers. A pending request for a permanent domestic violence restraining order has been continued until October, according to court documents.
The court further ordered Mr. Phypers to refrain from taking any action that would obstruct or otherwise interfere with Ms. Richards’ lawful access to the property. Additionally, Mr. Phypers was directed to return to Ms. Richards certain personal electronic devices, namely an iPhone and a black MacBook, which she alleges he removed without her authorization. Compliance with this order was required by September 9, with the proviso that, should Mr. Phypers no longer possess the items, he must submit a sworn declaration attesting to that fact.
Disputes have also arisen regarding the alleged possession of firearms by Mr. Phypers. While he has denied ownership, Ms. Richards has averred to the contrary in her representations to the court. Counsel for Ms. Richards has further argued that any additional delay in adjudicating her request for a domestic violence restraining order would prejudice her interests and subject her to undue distress by withholding final resolution.
It is recorded that Mr. Phypers initiated the dissolution of marriage proceedings on July 7 of this year, asserting that the parties’ separation occurred three days prior.#newsafro_
