A buyer had been identified for the £1.5 million property just weeks after the former glamour model was evicted due to unpaid mortgage obligations. However, the nine-bedroom house has now returned to the market at a significantly reduced price after previously being under offer.
The new listing for the house indicates that it is now being offered at £1.35 million, reflecting a substantial decrease of £150,000. This mansion, which spans 12 acres, has been central to Katie’s life for many years.
Katie will not receive any proceeds from the sale of the property, as the funds will be allocated to offset the debts incurred against the Sussex residence.
Upon its initial listing, a brochure cautioned potential buyers about the dangers of the empty swimming pool and indicated that the land might be contaminated by waste.
The online advertisement characterized the property as a potential “impressive family house” following refurbishment, without reference to its high-profile former owner. It described the residence as “a substantial detached family home” comprising three reception rooms, nine bedrooms, and four bath/shower rooms distributed across three floors, in addition to a one-bedroom annexe.
Bailiffs executed an eviction order against the star and her family in May due to her failure to maintain mortgage payments. The former model purchased the property for £1.35 million in 2014 from former Tory peer Francis Maude and it was featured in a Channel Four series documenting her attempts to renovate the residence.
Upon vacating the property, she claimed it was “cursed,” stating, “I’ve had nothing but bad memories in that house,” and expressed her belief that relocating would mark the beginning of a new chapter in her life.
