Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain in jail as he awaits his federal trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. During a recent court appearance in New York City, his legal team proposed a $50 million bail package, arguing that Combs was neither a flight risk nor a danger to the community. However, the judge denied this request, citing concerns over public safety and potential witness tampering.
Prosecutors introduced text messages allegedly sent by Combs to his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. One message, sent after an alleged incident involving police, read: “Call me, the cops are here. I got six kids. You, please call. I’m surrounded. You gonna abandon me all alone.” These messages were used to argue against his release, reinforcing the severity of the charges he faces.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and related offenses. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, maintains that Combs is innocent and has nothing to hide.
