Saoirse Ronan looked stunning as she attended the London screening of her new film, The Outrun, on Wednesday. The American-Irish actress, 30, made a striking appearance on the red carpet in a plunging black jumpsuit. Her ensemble featured structured shoulders, a deep V-neckline, a leather criss-cross belt detail at the waist, and a tapered leg, showcasing her impeccable style.
Saoirse Ronan enhanced her red carpet look with black leather court heels that added height and silver drop earrings for a touch of elegance. She styled her blonde hair in loose, tousled waves and opted for a flawless makeup palette, featuring a striking black winged eyeliner.
At the premiere of The Outrun, Saoirse Ronan was accompanied by her co-star Paapa Essiedu, who looked distinguished in a grey pinstripe blazer and trousers. He complemented the suit with a dusky pink shirt and smart black leather shoes.
The film, which also features Game of Thrones actor Stephen Dillane, tells the story of Rona, a young woman returning to the Orkney Islands in Scotland after leaving rehab for alcoholism. The Outrun had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
Following the premiere, Saoirse expressed her profound pride in being an Irish actress, acknowledging the “brave” women who paved the way. Born in New York to Irish parents, Saoirse described her heritage as “incredible stock” and emphasized her appreciation for it. In the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK, she reflected on the influential figures in Irish culture, citing icons like Sinéad O’Connor and Sharon Horgan, who defied conventions and shaped her understanding of her heritage.
Saoirse Ronan praised the bravery of women in Ireland who have overcome significant challenges, noting the deep historical constraints they faced. She reflected, “There’s been a lot to overcome for all women, but in a country like Ireland, where there was such ownership over us in every sense – physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially – how unbelievably brave.”
She continued, “What incredible stock to come from. I don’t take that for granted at all,” highlighting her gratitude for her heritage. Saoirse also emphasized the importance of support from other women, particularly from her mother, saying, “When you’ve got other women in your corner, they will defend you like nothing else. If you have that – which I’ve always had from my mother – you carry it with you your whole life.”
Looking ahead, Saoirse’s next project is Blitz, a historical drama directed by Steve McQueen, in which she will star alongside Leigh Gill and Harris Dickinson.
