Last year, in comments that did not reference Jon Richardson directly, Lucy Beaumont revealed that she had faced significant challenges in her career due to predatory behavior by men in the comedy industry. Speaking on The Comedian’s Comedian Podcast in July 2023, she described experiencing “quite a few incidents” of harassment early in her career, noting the lack of an HR-like system in the industry to address such issues.
Lucy mentioned that she could name up to 15 men involved in such behavior, emphasizing that this issue is widespread and not adequately discussed. Her comments shed light on the broader systemic problems within the industry, particularly for women navigating their careers.

In terms of her and Jon Richardson’s financial situation, recently filed accounts show that their company was valued at £4 million last year. They also jointly own a £1 million detached home in Yorkshire and a £1 million flat in a prestigious area of North London. The couple, who have a daughter together, married in April 2015 and separated in April 2024, shortly after the launch of the fifth series of Meet The Richardsons. They began dating in 2013 after being introduced by comedian Roisin Conaty.

Lucy Beaumont has enjoyed a notable career in comedy, with her show Meet The Richardsons earning her a BAFTA TV nomination for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Program in 2023. The show, which launched in 2020, was created with Jon and Peter Kay’s Car Share writer Tim Reid.
In addition to her success on Meet The Richardsons, Lucy has a thriving stand-up career and has appeared on numerous panel shows including Would I Lie To You?, Taskmaster, The Last Leg, and Have I Got News For You.
