Nollywood actress Esther Nwachukwu has publicly advocated for governmental sanctions against women who are perceived to habitually provoke their spouses. In an interview with Saturday Beats, conducted amid ongoing discussions of marital disputes within the entertainment industry, Nwachukwu stated: “Women should not provoke men to anger. In fact, the government should start sanctioning women for their provocative behavior in marriage.”
The actress further asserted that women should not only voice concerns when subjected to abuse but also acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of men in marital relationships. She emphasized that men often face criticism when circumstances deteriorate, while their contributions are frequently overlooked: “If things are good, women are applauded; if bad, men are blamed. No one cares for these men.”
Nwachukwu also addressed her perspective on the controversy surrounding Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko’s marriage, expressing the view that Daniels’ actions have publicly affected Nwoko’s reputation. She suggested that Daniels’ personal decisions, including a potential future marriage abroad, could have broader implications on Nwoko’s public and professional standing.#newsafro_
