Spencer Pratt had a blunt two-word response when a fan suggested his wife, Heidi Montag, join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: “Hard pass.”
The 41-year-old reality TV star made the remark during an Instagram Q&A as he and Heidi navigate rebuilding their lives following the devastating loss of their home in this month’s Los Angeles wildfires.
Despite their willingness to embrace various public projects to regain stability, it appears joining Bravo’s iconic Housewives franchise isn’t on the table for Heidi. Fans had speculated that her dramatic flair and history in reality TV would make her a perfect fit for the show, but Spencer’s response left little doubt about their stance.
The couple, who gained fame through The Hills, continues to document their journey while raising their two young sons, Gunner and Ryker.
When a fan with the handle @chubbychuck_ took to X this week to propose the idea of Heidi Montag joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, they wrote, “It’s time to have that conversation. @heidimontag @BravoTV #HeidiForRHOBH @spencerpratt let’s go!”
Spencer Pratt, however, wasted no time shutting down the suggestion. Catching wind of the post, he simply replied, “no thanks.”
The response made it clear that despite fan enthusiasm for the idea, the couple has no plans to jump into the Housewives franchise—even amidst their ongoing efforts to rebuild their lives after losing their home to the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
A fan recently asked Spencer Pratt if he and Heidi Montag would consider appearing on Andy Cohen’s late-night series Watch What Happens Live, but Spencer gave a sharp rejection, saying, “The person who said he would rather scratch his eyes out [than] watch my wife… hard pass.”
On social media, Spencer didn’t hold back, adding he’d “rather sit in my burned house rubble” than share a stage with Andy Cohen.
The tension between the Pratts and Cohen traces back over a decade to 2011, when Andy dismissed the idea of Heidi joining the Real Housewives franchise. At the time, he referred to her as “trash” and even said he’d “prefer to stab knives into [his] own eyes than see her on this network.”
Heidi responded to the comments, calling them “tasteless” and “completely unnecessary.” While Andy later apologized, saying he was overwhelmed by Housewives rumors at the time and “got a little carried away,” the feud seems to have left a lasting mark.
Andy Cohen elaborated further on his reasoning behind not seeing Heidi Montag as a good fit for The Real Housewives franchise, explaining on his SiriusXM show, Andy Cohen Live, in September 2023.
He compared Heidi’s potential inclusion to that of Snooki from Jersey Shore, saying, “They’re so identified, not only with another show but with another network. So, it’s like, ‘But wait a minute, you are supposed to be on Jersey Shore.’ It just makes it weird.”
Cohen also addressed speculation that his stance was based on his admiration for The Hills star Lauren Conrad, clarifying, “They said that they thought it was because I was a big Lauren Conrad fan and I’m like… I’m kind of not.”#newsafro_
