Darrell Sheets, best known for his role on the hit A&E series Storage Wars, has died at the age of 67, authorities in Arizona have confirmed.
Lake Havasu police said officers were called to Sheets’ home around 2 a.m. on Wednesday following a report of a deceased individual. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was later transferred to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office for examination.
According to police, the death is believed to have been the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Sheets rose to fame as one of the standout personalities on Storage Wars, where his bold bidding style and larger-than-life persona earned him the nickname “The Gambler.” He appeared in 163 episodes of the series and became a fan favorite over the show’s run.
After stepping away from television, Sheets settled in Lake Havasu, Arizona, where he operated an antique shop, Havasu Show Me Your Junk.
His time on the show was marked by both success and personal challenges, including a heart attack in 2019 that led to hospitalization and surgery.
A spokesperson for A&E said the network was saddened by his passing, calling him a “beloved member of our Storage Wars family” and extending condolences to his loved ones.
