Ray J is preparing to call a key witness in his ongoing legal battle with Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, over the infamous 2007 sex tape. The witness, Steve Hirsch, the former head of Vivid Entertainment, is expected to testify about who was involved in the tape’s release.
According to Ray J’s lawyer, Howard King, if Kim or Kris continue denying their involvement in orchestrating the tape, Hirsch could be called to provide firsthand confirmation of the mother-daughter duo’s role in the rollout of Kim Kardashian Superstar.
Earlier this week, both Kim and Kris filed sworn declarations insisting they did not mastermind the filming, sale, or release of the tape. King, however, claims these statements are false and warns that making untruthful sworn statements could have serious legal consequences, including potential perjury charges—especially for Kim, who has expressed interest in pursuing a law career.
While it is undisputed that Vivid Entertainment could not have released the tape without Ray J and Kim’s approval, the current legal debate centers on the extent of Kim and Kris’s involvement in negotiating the deal. In her declaration, Kris specifically denied participating in any “commercial exploitation” of her daughter.
Hirsch, who no longer owns Vivid, has previously stated in interviews that Kris had no role in the sale of the tape.
This legal saga follows the defamation lawsuit Kim and Kris filed against Ray J in October, which he responded to with a countersuit alleging they violated a settlement agreement barring public discussion of the sex tape. Representatives for Kim and Kris have declined to comment.#newsafro_
