Singer and actress Teyana Taylor was involved in a heated confrontation with a security guard moments after the Academy Awards broadcast ended Sunday night, following an alleged incident in which the guard placed his hands on her.
According to sources with direct knowledge of the situation, the incident occurred seconds after the ceremony concluded as Taylor attempted to return to the stage for the Best Picture group photo with her “One Battle After Another” castmates.
Sources said Taylor was heading toward the stage alongside Pam Abdi when a security guard attempted to block their access to the stairs leading up to the stage.
The guard allegedly used his body to prevent Taylor from moving forward and placed his hands on her in an effort to physically stop her from reaching the stage.
Video recorded inside the Dolby Theatre captured Taylor confronting the guard, telling him not to put his hands on a woman and describing the action as rude. At one point during the exchange, she was heard telling nearby attendees, “He literally shoved me.”
Sources say the situation briefly grew tense as the guard continued attempting to control stage access. During the confrontation, the guard reportedly asked Taylor to apologize.
