The Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor, reportedly failed to comply with a police invitation regarding allegations of multiple rape and other offenses capable of causing a breach of public peace, PUNCH Metro has learned.
The cleric was summoned to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCID at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. The invitation followed several complaints alleging sexual offenses and other acts that could disrupt public order.
In a Sunday statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, had ordered a thorough investigation into the allegations. An anonymous SCID officer told PUNCH Metro that Okafor did not appear at the department, despite the directive. Another source indicated that emissaries on the pastor’s behalf requested additional time, with assurances that he would eventually comply.
The police further disclosed that adequate security had been provided for the alleged victims and urged them to report to SCID for investigation, assuring that their identities would remain confidential. However, PUNCH Metro learned that no victims or witnesses reported for questioning on Monday.
The allegations surfaced in mid-December 2025, gaining widespread attention on social media. Among the claims, Nollywood actress Doris Ogala alleged in a series of Instagram videos on December 14, 2025, that she had been involved in a long-term sexual relationship with Okafor since 2017. She also accused him of breaking marriage promises, sharing explicit content, and contributing to the collapse of her previous marriage.
In response to the growing public scrutiny, Okafor reportedly addressed his congregation on New Year’s Day, apologizing for past “mistakes” and kneeling at the pulpit to seek forgiveness. Reports suggest that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria is considering disciplinary action against him, and the pastor has stepped aside from his pastoral duties as investigations continue.
Calls and messages to Adebisi for comment were not returned at the time of reporting.#newsafro_
