Chrissy Teigen has disclosed an unconventional personal practice which she asserts has contributed to the longevity of her 12-year marriage to her spouse, recording artist John Legend.
In an interview granted to E! News on Tuesday, the 40-year-old entrepreneur and founder of Cravings stated that she has deliberately maintained certain personal boundaries within the marriage in an effort to preserve intimacy and attraction, noting that such measures are, in her view, part of sustaining the relationship’s vitality.
Teigen and Legend, 47, first became acquainted in 2006 during the production of Legend’s Stereo music video, after which their relationship commenced. The couple are parents to four minor children—Luna, aged nine; Miles, seven; Esti, three; and Wren, two—and reportedly engage the services of four nannies to assist with childcare responsibilities.
Speaking about their eldest child, Teigen described Luna as having a broad range of interests, including ice skating, dance and cooking, while indicating that none has yet risen to the level of a lifelong vocation.
Teigen also referenced a deeply personal experience from 2020, when she underwent a medically necessary termination of pregnancy at 20 weeks following medical advice that continuation posed a fatal risk to both her and the unborn child.
Professionally, Teigen is presently serving as a judge on Netflix’s live reboot of Star Search, appearing alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jelly Roll, with Anthony Anderson acting as host. The original iteration of the programme, broadcast between 1983 and 1995, was instrumental in launching the careers of several prominent entertainers.
Teigen further disclosed that her father, Ron Teigen Sr., recently contacted her to express approval of her performance on the programme. He currently resides in an assisted-living facility following a hospitalization in 2024. In prior years, he publicly honored his daughter with a tattoo of her likeness and subsequently filed for divorce from her mother in 2019.
In addition to her media engagements, Teigen remains active as co-founder of the dog food brand Kismet and founder of Cravings, which has expanded beyond publishing into lifestyle and kitchen products. She also maintains a substantial social-media presence and multiple commercial brand partnerships.
Legend, born John Stephens, is slated to compete for a gospel category award at the forthcoming Grammy Awards and continues his involvement in various musical projects. He is also scheduled to resume coaching duties on The Voice and to embark on a concert tour later in the year.#newsafro_
