Kate Gosselin, 50, has been seen walking unaided in public for the first time in nearly four months following a serious leg injury caused by an accident with her dog.
The reality TV star shared a TikTok video on Wednesday showing herself walking from her car to a coffee shop during a trip to New Zealand. She captioned the post, “And then … she could suddenly WALK again,” marking a milestone in her recovery.
Gosselin had previously described the incident in which her puppy, Meika, collided with her knee at high speed, resulting in a “life-altering” leg fracture that required surgery in September to insert plates and pins. Following the procedure, she has been engaged in regular physical therapy to restore mobility.
In the video, Gosselin appeared to have a slight limp but moved cautiously with a broad smile, narrating her progress and expressing amazement at being able to walk freely. She emphasized that she had been gradually increasing her home mobility exercises, which culminated in her sudden ability to walk independently.
The clip concluded with Gosselin celebrating the moment, writing on-screen that she “cannot believe this day has FINALLY come,” a significant update since her last public health update in December when she was still reliant on crutches.#newsafro_
