Jennifer Lawrence was observed in public wearing an unconventional outfit during a solo walk in New York City on Thursday, shortly after disclosing details of a reportedly awkward text-message exchange with a fellow A-list actress and longtime associate.
The 35-year-old actress appeared appropriately dressed for winter conditions, styling a bright pink pashmina scarf around her waist in a manner resembling a skirt, layered over sweatpants, and paired with a cream cashmere sweater and a padded jacket. She was seen speaking on a mobile phone, wearing dark sunglasses, noise-canceling headphones, and soft leather footwear. Her appearance was otherwise understated, with minimal makeup and her hair worn straight and natural.
The outing followed her attendance at a special screening of her latest film, Die My Love, where she debuted a new hairstyle featuring bangs. The appearance also came amid public discussion surrounding her omission from the recently announced SAG-AFTRA Actor Awards nominations, despite receiving recognition for the same role at the Golden Globe Awards, Gotham Awards, and other ceremonies.
Subsequently, Lawrence disclosed that she contacted her friend and colleague Emma Stone—who received a nomination for her performance in Bugonia—via text message, humorously expressing disappointment at once again being surpassed by Stone in awards recognition. Speaking at an event at New York’s 92NY, Lawrence described sending a sad-face emoji in a group chat congratulating Stone and jokingly confronting her about the perceived imbalance in their respective awards histories, while emphasizing the exchange was made in jest and admiration.
Lawrence further remarked that she has previously lost both award recognition and acting roles to Stone, citing Easy A as a role she had strongly desired. Notwithstanding these past professional overlaps, Lawrence and Stone are currently collaborating on an upcoming Miss Piggy film directed by Cole Escola.
In Die My Love, released on November 7, 2025, Lawrence portrays a writer and young mother residing in rural Montana with her partner, played by Robert Pattinson, whose growing concern mirrors her character’s gradual psychological deterioration. The film was directed by Lynne Ramsay and features an ensemble cast including Sissy Spacek, Sarah Lind, and LaKeith Stanfield.#newsafro_
