Julianne Hough has issued a public message of congratulation to her brother, Derek Hough, and his wife, Hayley Erbert, following their announcement of the birth of their first child.
The 37-year-old television host and performer acknowledged the arrival of her niece, Everly Capri Hough, after Mr. Hough, aged 40, and Ms. Erbert, aged 31, shared the birth announcement via social media on Monday. In response, Ms. Hough commented on the post, welcoming the newborn and describing her as a “sweet angel.” She further amplified the announcement by re-posting the image to her Instagram Stories, accompanied by a message confirming the arrival of the baby girl.
The parents’ announcement stated that Everly Capri Hough was born on December 29, 2025, and expressed that her birth marked a profound and transformative moment in their lives.
The child’s birth follows the couple’s prior disclosure that they had experienced a miscarriage before Ms. Erbert’s successful pregnancy. They had publicly announced the pregnancy in July and later acknowledged, in October, that the expected child was a “rainbow baby,” a term commonly used to describe a child born after pregnancy loss.
The arrival of the couple’s daughter also represents a significant milestone following serious health challenges previously faced by Ms. Erbert. In December 2023, she underwent emergency medical treatment after suffering a cranial hematoma while on tour, which required immediate surgical intervention. In the weeks that followed, she underwent further reconstructive surgery and subsequently made a substantial recovery.
Despite the severity of the incident, Ms. Erbert’s rehabilitation progressed to the extent that the couple were able to complete their scheduled dance tour, concluding in May 2024. They later celebrated their first wedding anniversary in August 2024.
In a subsequent public interview, the couple recounted the medical emergency and recovery process, with Mr. Hough describing the experience as life-threatening and emotionally distressing. Ms. Erbert later confirmed that, despite initial medical concerns regarding her mobility, she pursued an intensive recovery and ultimately returned to dancing.
The birth of their daughter has been widely regarded as the commencement of a positive new chapter for the family following a period marked by both personal loss and serious health adversity.#newsafro_
