United Kingdom-based Nigerian recording artist, audio engineer, and songwriter Olumide D’Goke, professionally known as Lumiegee, is commemorating 10 years in the music industry, celebrating a decade of artistic growth, experimentation, and innovation.
Spanning 2015 to 2025, this milestone reflects Lumiegee’s evolution from an emerging talent to a distinctive voice in contemporary African music. He debuted in 2015 with the single Love Miami, a vibrant introduction to his energetic sound and creative vision, followed by Whynogplay, which was later accompanied by a music video directed by Lexten.
Lumiegee continued to expand his musical repertoire with culturally infused tracks like Amoniseni (2017) and singles Fight4me and If U Fit (2018), which highlighted his lyrical versatility. In 2019, he released the EP Love Matters, marking a notable development in his sound and storytelling. The following year, the music video for Lost of Words showcased his growth in production and emotional expression.
He maintained industry relevance with the 2021 single BBG (Big Bootie Gurl) and returned in 2025 with the releases Yehba and Malofo. Lumiegee’s musical journey began in a church choir before relocating to the UK, where he refined his craft. His signature sound fuses Afropop, R&B, soul, and world music, drawing inspiration from icons such as King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti, Stevie Wonder, D’Angelo, and Common, as well as contemporary artists including Burna Boy and Wizkid.
