Kim Kardashian surprised her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, with a truly unique Christmas gift this year: the iconic bicycle from the 1985 film Pee-wee’s Big Adventure.
Kourtney, 46, shared her excitement on Instagram Stories on Saturday, showcasing the Hollywood memorabilia she received from her 45-year-old sister. She captioned the post, “If anyone’s looking for Pee-wee’s bicycle… I have it. Coolest Christmas present @kimkardashian,” and also posted a picture of herself admiring the bike with the caption, “Me on Christmas morning.”
The 1985 Tim Burton-directed film, which helped launch Paul Reubens’ Pee-wee Herman character into pop culture stardom, follows Pee-wee on a nationwide quest to retrieve his beloved red bicycle after it becomes the target of his rival, Francis. The bike features prominently throughout the movie, from truck stops to the Alamo to the Warner Brothers backlot.
Kourtney received the bike seven months after one of the 14 bicycles used in the film sold at auction for $125,000 at Van Eaton Galleries in Los Angeles, part of the estate of the late animation producer Jay Ward. Ward was known for classic animated projects like Rocky & Bullwinkle, Dudley Do-Right, and George of the Jungle. The auction also included props from films such as Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, and Star Wars. It is not yet clear whether the bicycle Kim gifted Kourtney was the same one sold at the auction.
In addition to the memorable gift for Kourtney, Kim also treated her four children with ex-husband Kanye West to Pomeranian puppies for the holidays. Three of the children—North, 12; Saint, 10; and Chicago, 7—later enjoyed a trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, California with their father and his wife, Bianca Censori.#newsafro_
