Fraser Olender, a cast member of Below Deck, publicly disclosed that he experienced a heart attack at the age of 33, which he attributes to the use of vaping products. Olender posted on Instagram that he had been hospitalized after experiencing severe chest pains and breathing difficulties. During a week-long evaluation in London hospitals, medical specialists determined that he suffered a coronary artery vasospasm, which temporarily restricted blood flow to the heart and resulted in an ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
Olender stated that he has ceased using vaping products since the incident and expressed hope that sharing his experience might encourage others to reconsider their use of e-cigarettes. He described the event as a serious health scare and emphasized the importance of awareness regarding the potential risks associated with vaping.
Public health experts note that vaping, while often considered a less harmful alternative to conventional smoking, carries potential health risks, including respiratory complications and exposure to chemicals that may be harmful over time. Recent studies suggest that combining vaping with smoking may increase the likelihood of certain illnesses. Authorities such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise against initiating vaping, particularly among young adults, due to these potential risks.#newsafro_
