The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has formally released the roster of match officials designated to officiate at the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, scheduled to occur from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
CAF has appointed a total of seventy-three (73) officials for the tournament, comprising twenty-eight (28) referees, thirty-one (31) assistant referees, and fourteen (14) video assistant referee (VAR) officials. Notably, no match official from Nigeria is included in the appointments.
The selected personnel represent all geographic zones within the continent and include individuals with extensive officiating experience in prior CAF competitions.
Pursuant to CAF directives, all appointed officials are required to report to Morocco on 15 December 2025 to participate in an intensive preparatory programme. The programme—administered by the CAF Referees Department—will encompass physical, technical, and theoretical evaluations designed to ensure that officials are adequately equipped to meet the operational standards required throughout the tournament.
CAF noted that the rigorous selection process reflects its ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards of refereeing, safeguarding the integrity of the competition, and advancing technical excellence across African football.#newsafro_
