Hailey Bieber, aged 28, has directly addressed online critics who have claimed she “looks trans,” offering a concise seven-word response during an appearance on the In Your Dreams with Owen Thiele podcast.
The model and entrepreneur—who recently discussed her family life and future plans with husband Justin Bieber—spoke candidly about the remarks, noting that she refuses to perceive such comments as insulting.
“When people are trying to be mean, they’re like, ‘She looks trans,’” Hailey stated. “And I’m like, ‘Why do you think that’s a diss?’ As if being trans is a diss—some of the most beautiful women and men in the world are trans.”
The Rhode founder went on to emphasize that she does not take such statements personally, adding: “I just don’t take that offensively at all.”
Following the podcast’s release, Hailey received widespread support online. One fan commented, “Hailey clocked people using ‘trans’ as an insult,” while another praised, “Love how she clapped back at the transphobic haters. Queen behavior.”
Hailey is no stranger to confronting online criticism. In a Vogue interview earlier this year, she expressed fatigue over persistent trolling, particularly regarding her marriage. Reflecting on her relationship with Justin—whom she married in 2018—she said: “I thought seven years in it would’ve already died down, and it hasn’t. So I guess these people are just going to stay mad.”
She further noted the emotional toll of public scrutiny: “I feel like I’ve fought so hard to try to get people to understand me or know who I am, and people just don’t want to sometimes. There’s nothing you can do about that.”
During the same podcast appearance, Hailey also discussed motherhood and her desire for more children. She and Justin welcomed their first child, Jack Blues, in August 2024. “I definitely want more than one,” she said, adding that motherhood has been “the most fulfilling experience” of her life.
The model acknowledged that parenting can be daunting but described her approach as “super hands-on,” while also expressing gratitude for the support of full-time childcare, which allows her to balance her professional and personal commitments.
She concluded by sharing her hopes for her son’s upbringing, emphasizing her wish for him to “grow up traveling” and “experience the world,” much like she did as a child.#newsafro_
