Lizzo turned heads on Friday as she stepped out in a daring sheer look for New York Fashion Week.
The 37-year-old hitmaker, who has been proudly flaunting her recent weight loss, made a bold statement at Christian Siriano’s show.
She stunned in a brown chiffon corseted halter bodysuit paired with a black chiffon pareo that left little to the imagination. Completing the look, Lizzo opted for strappy high-heeled sandals and skipped jewelry to let the striking ensemble speak for itself.
Adding extra drama, she wore her long red hair loose for a pop of color, while her glam remained understated with a natural finish and muted lip.
The About Damn Time singer has attributed her transformation to consistent discipline and lifestyle changes, though she has openly acknowledged trying Ozempic and other GLP-1 medications as part of her journey.
Lizzo got candid about her health and lifestyle changes while dazzling at New York Fashion Week.
Speaking on the Just Trish podcast in June, the 37-year-old performer admitted, “I’ve tried everything. It’s just the science for me — calories in versus calories out. Ozempic works because you eat less food. It makes you feel full. So if you can just do that on your own and get mind-over-matter, it’s the same.”
The About Damn Time hitmaker revealed she had moved away from what she called her “junk food vegan” diet, during which she consumed between 3,000 and 5,000 calories a day, to a more balanced routine. “When I actually started eating whole foods — beef, chicken, fish — I was full without expanding my stomach with fake things that weren’t filling me up,” she explained.
At Friday’s Christian Siriano show, Lizzo was seen mingling with fellow stars Oprah Winfrey, 71, and Whoopi Goldberg, 69 — both of whom have also credited GLP-1 drugs with aiding their own weight-loss journeys.
Winfrey radiated elegance in a black tuxedo-inspired ensemble featuring wide-leg pants and a cropped jacket with striking green satin lapels that matched her blouse. A diamond brooch and softly curled locks completed her look.
Goldberg opted for a more relaxed take on classic tailoring, pairing a wide-lapelled black suit and white button-down with her signature braids, socks, and comfortable closed-toe sandals.
Designer Christian Siriano, now 39, hosted the star-studded show. Since his Project Runway season four win in 2007, Siriano has built a reputation for inclusive, size-spanning fashion. “A great dress is a great dress,” he told the BBC earlier this month, emphasizing that luxury should not exclude curvier clients. His gowns, which can fetch upwards of $12,000, have proven that inclusivity pays off.#newsafro_
