Katherine Jackson, mother of the late recording artist Michael Jackson, was observed in Los Angeles on Thursday during a rare public outing. The ninety-five-year-old matriarch was seen in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood accompanied by an aide. She was attired in a patterned green dress, complemented by a forest-green cardigan, black shoes, hoop earrings, a long necklace, and carried a black Chanel handbag.
Mrs. Jackson, widowed since the death of her husband Joseph Jackson in 2018, appeared publicly at a time when her granddaughter Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson, aged twenty-seven (27), has recently issued statements distancing herself from the forthcoming Michael Jackson biographical film.
The biopic, directed by Antoine Fuqua and budgeted at approximately $155 million, is scheduled for theatrical release on April 24, 2026. The film stars Jaafar Jackson, Paris Jackson’s cousin, in the role of Michael Jackson, and is produced by John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of the Jackson estate. Actor Colman Domingo, aged fifty-five (55), has been cast as Joseph Jackson.
In recent remarks to People, Mr. Domingo suggested that Paris Jackson and her brother, Prince Jackson, were supportive of the film, referencing a brief exchange with them at the amfAR Venezia Gala. However, Paris Jackson subsequently refuted this characterization through statements on her Instagram account, where she maintains an audience of approximately 5.4 million followers. She clarified that, while she had reviewed an early draft of the script and provided feedback, she had no formal involvement in the production and did not support claims to the contrary.#newsafro_
