Ms. Billie Shepherd, aged thirty-five (35), has disclosed that she was formally diagnosed with Lyme disease earlier this year, subsequent to experiencing several months of severe and debilitating symptoms which, at times, rendered her bedridden.
The television personality described her battle with the condition as “really tough,” noting that she endured episodes of intense pain and profound fatigue, and was compelled to rely upon the assistance of her husband, Mr. Greg Shepherd, in performing even the most basic daily tasks.
In an interview with The Mirror, Ms. Billie Shepherd stated that her condition left her incapacitated to the extent that, on certain mornings, she was unable to rise from bed. She recounted instances in which she was compelled to crawl to the bathroom, describing herself as “hysterical, crying” due to the severity of the pain. She further disclosed that, on occasion, she required physical assistance from her husband, Mr. Greg Shepherd, even to sit on the toilet, characterizing the experience as “so scary.”
Ms. Shepherd explained that medical professionals required several weeks to determine the underlying cause of her illness, during which time she endured extreme discomfort as her immune system effectively began attacking itself. Despite undergoing numerous blood tests, the condition remained undiagnosed for approximately two months, with one physician reportedly acknowledging that she had “never seen anything like it.” The eventual diagnosis confirmed Lyme disease.
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted by ticks. It is commonly associated with flu-like symptoms, including fatigue, headaches, swollen joints, and fever, which may persist for several weeks. However, in certain cases not yet fully understood, affected individuals experience long-term, chronic complications lasting for years.#newsafro_
