Veteran actress Megan Gallagher, a long-standing figure in the entertainment industry with over 50 credited on-screen appearances, held a recurring role on the acclaimed television series Hill Street Blues during the late 1980s.
A native of Pennsylvania, Ms. Gallagher portrayed Officer Tina Russo in 19 episodes between 1986 and 1987, garnering a dedicated fan base due to the show’s significant popularity and critical acclaim.
In addition to her work on Hill Street Blues, Ms. Gallagher featured in several other notable television productions, including China Beach, The Slap Maxwell Story, The Larry Sanders Show, and Millennium.
Her film credits include an appearance in the 2005 action-comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Ms. Gallagher, whose foundational training includes formal study at the prestigious Juilliard School, began her stage career with a role in Paul Osborn’s theatrical production Oliver Oliver. She subsequently portrayed LCDR JoAnne Galloway in the 1989 Broadway staging of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men—a role later adapted for film and portrayed by Demi Moore opposite Tom Cruise.
In 1993, she further solidified her theatrical credentials by performing in both parts of Tony Kushner’s critically acclaimed Broadway works Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes—Millennium Approaches and Perestroika.
Following her extensive accomplishments on stage, Ms. Gallagher transitioned to Los Angeles, where she first appeared in the miniseries George Washington. Her early television work also included a guest role in the pilot episode of L.A. Law.
