In the days following the passing of Mr. Ozzy Osbourne at the age of 76, past remarks expressing his admiration for Ms. Taylor Swift have resurfaced. During an October 2014 episode of The Talk, Ms. Sharon Osbourne recounted her husband’s impressions of the singer following a chance encounter.
Ms. Osbourne disclosed that Mr. Osbourne, frontman of the band Black Sabbath, held Ms. Swift in exceptionally high regard, drawing comparisons between her and iconic figures such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn.
Addressing Ms. Swift during the episode, Ms. Osbourne recalled the moment, stating: ‘Remember the time that we were all out shopping separately and we bumped into you, and I had Ozzy with me and [our daughter] Kelly was there and we all had chats in the store?’
Ms. Sharon Osbourne further recounted that, following the encounter, the late Mr. Ozzy Osbourne expressed unreserved admiration for Ms. Taylor Swift, stating: ‘Finally, out of all these young, new artists, I’ve found one that is a true superstar.’
As the studio audience responded with applause, Ms. Osbourne elaborated: ‘He said he had never met anyone possessing the aura that you have—an aura of elegance and unmistakable, genuine talent.’
Mr. Ozzy Osbourne’s praise for Ms. Taylor Swift extended beyond his initial comments. According to Ms. Sharon Osbourne, the late musician further remarked that Ms. Swift embodied the qualities of both Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, describing her as ‘Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn all rolled into one.’
Redirecting the discussion during the 2014 episode of The Talk, Ms. Osbourne asked Ms. Swift, ‘Now what do you remember about my Ozzy?’ The singer-songwriter, visibly touched, responded, ‘First of all, that was the sweetest thing in the world,’ before adding, ‘I remember he didn’t talk much.’
Ms. Osbourne responded humorously, ‘He was too busy staring at you.’ Ms. Swift elaborated, stating, ‘He didn’t talk much, and me, and Kelly, and you were just kind of like, chattering away.’ She continued, ‘Later, when Kelly told me that he had said those nice things, I was so blown away. I was just so flattered. It was the sweetest thing in the world.’
The artist, known for her album Midnights, also reflected on the strong familial bond among the Osbournes, stating, ‘It was so nice to see you guys out as a family, all shopping together.’ She added, ‘Those are the things that typically, as kids grow up and everybody becomes adults, you don’t see family days as much.’#newsafro_
