Following the widely publicized commencement of the relationship between Ms. Taylor Swift and Mr. Travis Kelce, members of the public—particularly fans—began referring to the couple using various amalgamated monikers, including “Tayvis,” “Traylor,” and “Swelce.”
In a recent development, a pair of new parents elected to pay homage to the celebrity duo by bestowing upon their newborn child a name inspired by the couple.
On Friday, Liberty Hospital, affiliated with the University of Kansas, published a photograph on its official Facebook page featuring the newborn. The infant was swaddled in a white blanket, adorned with a prominent yellow bow atop her head, and positioned next to a red Kansas City Chiefs jersey bearing the name “Kelce.”
A placard positioned above the infant’s head featured a cartoon depiction of Ms. Taylor Swift in cowboy boots and announced the child’s name as Kelce Taylor.
In an accompanying caption, Liberty Hospital stated: “We are so excited to announce the birth of the youngest Swiftie and newest member of The Kansas City Chiefs Red Kingdom. Kelce Taylor is officially in her newborn era.”
The post prompted a variety of responses from the public. One commenter encouraged further publicity by stating: “Send this to the podcast. I’m sure Travis would be honored.”
Another expectant mother remarked on her own enthusiasm for the naming concept, saying: “We’re having a girl and her surname will be Taylor; I’m wondering if I can convince my partner to name her Kelce, lol.”
A different respondent, identifying herself as the mother of a child named Patrick—born on February 2, 2020, the day of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory—expressed her support: “I support this SO much! And your kiddo will have SUCH a fun name story to tell. I know mine does!!!”
In a coincidental twist, a woman named Kelsey Taylor referred to the chosen name as “the best name around ❤️.”
Some comments took a humorous turn, including one user who speculated: “She’s going to grow up and be into death metal and hate football, lol.”
Another respondent expressed a more cautious sentiment, stating: “Gosh, I hope Travis and Taylor never break up.”
At present, however, the durability of the couple’s relationship does not appear to be a matter of widespread concern.#newsafro_
