Kourtney Kardashian Barker has faced public criticism following the release of what some have characterized as an “unprofessional” promotional video for her wellness brand, Lemme. The video, which was casually recorded and shared via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, was reportedly filmed while she was experiencing jet lag during a family vacation in the Italian village of Portofino.
In the promotional segment, the 46-year-old co-founder of Lemme attempted to highlight the brand’s sale in connection with Amazon Prime Day, which runs through Friday. However, she appeared disoriented and uncertain of the timing, admitting confusion regarding the day of the event while filming from a car.
With a following of approximately 283.4 million on social media, Ms. Kardashian Barker was heard stammering in the video: “Hi everyone, ummm… it… Lemme… what is it? I can’t talk. Amazon Prime Day started yesterday, and…”
During the recording of the promotional segment, Ms. Kardashian Barker’s 13-year-old daughter, Penelope Scotland Disick, appeared visibly embarrassed and interjected with the remark, “Restart.”
In response, Ms. Kardashian Barker—an executive producer and star of The Kardashians—replied, “No, I’m not going to restart. I’m just going to do it.”
She continued the message, stating: “And so, everything Lemme is on sale. So [I] just wanted to say happy shopping! Ummm, I don’t know what day it is, but it ends on August 11th.”
Subsequently recognizing the error in her initial promotional message, Ms. Kardashian Barker—now wearing sunglasses—recorded a follow-up video in which she corrected the end date of the Lemme sale. She stated: “Okay, whoops, it ends July 11th, not August 11th. That would be the longest Prime Day ever.”
Following the publication of the video, a TikTok user reposted the original footage, prompting a wave of critical commentary from viewers. One user, identified as @Chels, remarked: “One thing about Kourtney is she literally hates working.” Another, @kaymendez96, added: “So when she means ‘I don’t want to work,’ she really doesn’t want to work at all haha!”
User @tickytocker53 commented on the promotional disparity among the Kardashian family’s ventures, stating: “This is why I don’t buy Lemme. At least you can tell Kim cares about SKIMS, and Kylie is super invested in makeup. Kourtney and her carefree attitude is usually iconic—but not when it comes to running a business and taking my money.”
Further criticisms included observations of perceived narcissism and lack of professionalism. User @Erica noted: “Everyone can detect the twinge of narcissism when she says, ‘No, I’m not gonna restart,’ instead of just being humble and laughing at herself. Kim is much more professional than this.”
Another commenter, @Alissagator, stated: “She doesn’t even care enough about her product to make an accurate video. So why should we care about buying it? Unprofessional and unrelatable.”
Opinions varied, with user @vavisboring writing, “That’s so on brand for her,” while user @jdub055 added, “She doesn’t care, and I love it.”
Kourtney Kardashian Barker co-founded the wellness brand Lemme alongside longtime associate and publicist Simon Huck as early as 2019. However, the official brand launch was deferred until 2022 in order to allow sufficient time to consult with medical professionals, including physicians, formulators, and scientists, to ensure product development met internal quality and efficacy standards.
The Lemme product line includes sugar-based gummy supplements marketed under names such as Purr, Debloat, Grow, and GLP-1 Daily. The latter product is currently the subject of two class action lawsuits filed in the United States: one in California on February 19, and another in New York on March 9. Both actions allege that GLP-1 Daily was falsely advertised for its purported weight loss benefits.
In addition to her work with Lemme, Ms. Kardashian Barker launched a lifestyle and wellness platform, Poosh, in early 2019. However, she seldom promotes the website on her social media platforms.
Academically, Ms. Kardashian Barker is among the minority of her family members to hold a university degree, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from the University of Arizona.
She is the mother of three children—Penelope, Mason (15), and Reign (10)—from her prior long-term relationship with Talentless CEO Scott Disick, which concluded in 2015 after nearly a decade. She is also the mother of Rocky Thirteen, born approximately 20 months ago, whom she shares with her spouse, musician Travis Barker.
In her role as stepmother, Ms. Kardashian Barker is additionally involved in the lives of Mr. Barker’s three children from his previous marriage to Shanna Moakler (Miss USA 1995): Landon (21), Alabama (18), and Atiana De La Hoya (26). The couple’s marriage concluded in 2008 following a three-year union.
Ms. Kardashian Barker is expected to commence filming the seventh season of her family’s Hulu docuseries, The Kardashians, in the near future.
Notably, she holds the distinction of being the first member of the Kardashian family to appear in a reality television program, having participated in the E! network’s Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive, an eight-episode series inspired by The Simple Life, which aired in 2005.#newsafro_
