During the ongoing trial of Mr. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in New York, which commenced earlier this week, the name of Mr. Bruce Willis was introduced on Thursday in connection with testimony provided by Ms. Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura.
Ms. Ventura, aged 38, continued her testimony for the third consecutive day, during which she provided detailed accounts regarding her prior personal relationship with Mr. Combs, spanning the period from 2007 through 2018.
During proceedings, the jury was presented with a series of text message exchanges involving Ms. Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura. Among the communications was a message in which Ms. Ventura articulated her desire to assume a more significant role in Mr. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ life, including involvement with his children from prior relationships.
Ms. Ventura further testified that, in her perception, her primary function within Mr. Combs’ personal life was limited to participation in what she described as the rapper’s ‘freak offs.’ She acknowledged to the court that this dynamic was, at times, ‘a little heartbreaking,’ as reported by People magazine.
In her testimony, Ms. Ventura referenced examples of successful relationships within Hollywood, specifically citing instances where partners had children from previous relationships and managed to maintain functional family dynamics.
Notably, a text authored by Ms. Ventura in 2013 was introduced into evidence, wherein she wrote: ‘As much as you think you’re Bruce Willis, you aren’t. He’s married, and before he was married, the family as a whole went on trips together or just him and his woman.’
The Court was further apprised that Mr. Bruce Willis, the actor famously known for his role in Die Hard, was formerly married to Ms. Demi Moore, with whom he shares three children. Despite their dissolution of marriage in 2000, the parties have maintained a cordial relationship characterized by cooperative co-parenting.
Ms. Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura also referenced in her testimony the relationship between Mr. Eddie Murphy and Ms. Paige Butcher, whom Mr. Murphy married in 2024 following an extended period of dating.
In a text message introduced into evidence, Ms. Ventura stated: “Eddie Murphy and Paige took his kids away on their own. I don’t think that you sympathize with my feelings. I understand you feeling like you need to protect your children but after a while… it’s like for what?”
On Thursday, additional text messages were submitted to the jury by counsel for the defense, illustrating Ms. Ventura’s expressed frustration with Mr. Combs, as well as feelings of jealousy concerning his interactions with other women.
In one such message dated 2013, Ms. Ventura wrote: “You’re making me look like a side piece and that is not what I thought I was.”
Ms. Ventura testified that, during the initial stages of their relationship, Mr. Combs discouraged her from seeing other men and exhibited anger when he suspected infidelity. Conversely, she stated that Mr. Combs retained the freedom to engage socially with other individuals, including Ms. Kim Porter, with whom he shares children.#newsafro_
