On Tuesday, Vick Hope gave further rise to ongoing speculation regarding a possible pregnancy after posting a series of images to social media appearing to depict a visible abdominal protrusion.
The 35-year-old BBC Radio 1 presenter appeared to cradle her midsection while participating in a press junket, prompting public conjecture that she may be expecting.
Subsequent to the interview, Ms. Hope published a compilation of professional highlights on her Instagram account, several of which featured what observers have described as a discernible “bump.”
Numerous public figures and followers promptly responded in the comments section of Ms. Hope’s social media post, offering congratulatory remarks to both her and her husband, DJ Calvin Harris (aged 41), to whom she was wed in September 2023.
Among those extending well-wishes was Lisa Snowdon, who stated: “Congratulations darling. So happy for you both.” Likewise, Laura Whitmore appeared to allude to a possible pregnancy, commenting: “She got the glow!”
Journalist and author Elizabeth Day added: “Vick, congratulations. You look RADIANT AF,” while Dr. Ranj Singh contributed a succinct: “Congrats!!!!”
Additional speculation arose in response to comments from members of the public, including remarks such as: “Omg are we going to talk about you expecting! Huge congrats!”; “Congratulations to you and Calvin. Fabulous news. Exciting times ahead,”; and “Knew she was pregnant at the Brits!”
During a recent BBC Radio 1 interview with actress Florence Pugh, Ms. Hope appeared to exhibit a visible abdominal curve while seated in a form-fitting cream bodycon dress. Throughout the segment—recorded alongside her co-host, Jamie Laing—Ms. Hope was observed gently stroking her stomach and displaying her engagement and wedding rings.
Although the interview has not, as of yet, been published to BBC Radio 1’s or the presenters’ official social media platforms, including Instagram, it was made available on YouTube as of Monday evening.
This is not the first instance in which Ms. Hope and Mr. Harris have been the subject of pregnancy speculation. Similar conjecture emerged following their appearance at the 2024 Grammy Awards, during which Ms. Hope shared an image of herself resting her hand on her midsection—an act interpreted by some observers as a possible non-verbal indication of pregnancy.
However, Vick Hope, a presenter for BBC Radio 1, promptly addressed and dispelled the circulating pregnancy rumors via Instagram.
In response to a follower who called for an end to public speculation on women’s bodies, Ms. Hope clarified: “Yep, just placing my hand on my tummy! I think I was smoothing my dress or checking my post-brekkie bloat or something but thank you all for all the lovely messages.”
Ms. Hope and her husband, DJ Calvin Harris—whose legal name is Adam Richard Wiles—marked their first wedding anniversary in late 2024, following their nuptials in September 2023, which took place during an elaborate Ibiza-based celebration styled with a Glastonbury festival theme.
Post-ceremony, the couple travelled to Brindisi, Italy, for their honeymoon, reportedly flying via a private jet valued at £25 million.
In previous interviews, Ms. Hope disclosed that the couple’s history extends back to the mid-2000s. She recounted having turned down Mr. Wiles when she was 19 and he was 24, during the height of his early musical success with “Acceptable in the 80s.” She remarked to You Magazine, “It’s something that we laughed about on our first proper date. We still laugh about it now.”
While Mr. Wiles rose to international prominence as one of the highest-paid music producers—amassing an estimated personal fortune of approximately £200 million—Ms. Hope admitted she had initially underestimated his potential, confessing she had been “shallow” and had no idea he would go on to become, in her words, “an Adonis.”#newsafro_
