The Head Coaches of Nigeria’s Under-18 and Under-20 Women’s Handball National Teams have, in accordance with the regulations governing international competition, formally released the final rosters comprising fourteen (14) athletes each, who have been duly selected to represent the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the International Handball Federation (IHF) Women’s Trophy Zonal Phase. Said competition is scheduled to be held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from the 20th to the 24th of April, 2025.
In preparation for the aforementioned event, both national teams have been engaged in an intensive training camp at the Rowe Park Sports Centre located in Yaba, Lagos State, for a period of approximately two weeks. The contingent has since departed Nigeria on Thursday for the purpose of international engagement.
Coach John Uzor, vested with responsibility for the Under-18 National Team, has selected a roster that includes, inter alia, Omole Joy of Defender Babes, her sibling Omole Shola, Ojie Princess of Funad Academy, and right back Faisat Balogun. Additional selections include Success Duru, Chetachi Ngaodurubie of COAS Babes, and Sharon Okonkwo, among other duly qualified athletes.#newsafro_
