Teddi Mellencamp has disclosed the distressing news that doctors have identified five additional tumors in her body amid her ongoing battle with cancer. The reality TV personality, who has been open about her health struggles, shared the devastating update with her followers, revealing that the latest diagnosis marks a significant development in her treatment journey.
Teddi Mellencamp, 43, former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and mother of three young children—Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 5—shared a devastating health update with her followers on Thursday, following the results of a recent CT scan. Mellencamp, who has been battling skin cancer since 2022, revealed that doctors had discovered five new tumors in her body. Initially diagnosed with brain tumors in mid-February after experiencing severe headaches, Mellencamp now faces two tumors in her lungs and three additional tumors in her brain.
In her Instagram post, she confirmed that, due to the inoperable nature of some of the tumors, she will begin immediate treatment, including immunotherapy and radiation. She stated, ‘Update from scans today: I have multiple tumors in my brain that weren’t able to be removed via surgery. I also have two tumors in my lung.’
Mellencamp, whose father is renowned singer-songwriter John Cougar Mellencamp, 73, expressed that her medical team remains optimistic about the effectiveness of immunotherapy and radiation. Despite the distressing diagnosis, the reality star, currently navigating a divorce from her husband, Edwin Arroyave, maintained a positive outlook, stating, ‘I am feeling positive and excited,’ and reassuring her followers that she remains resolute in her battle.
She clarified that the tumors are a direct consequence of her melanoma, adding, ‘I am feeling positive that I will win this battle, that I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots), and that I can remember all of Angelina’s kids’ names.’
Mellencamp received an outpouring of support from fellow reality stars in the comments, including Judge, who wrote, ‘You are gonna kick cancer’s a**; you are the strongest person I know—cancer f**k all the way off!’ Kyle Richards, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, recalled a humorous moment with Mellencamp post-surgery, while Dorit Kemsley offered her encouragement, stating, ‘You got this Teddi! You’re stronger than you realize. I know you’ll win!’
Shanna Moakler also expressed her admiration, telling Mellencamp, ‘Well, I’m getting on that treadmill tomorrow—you inspire me every day… you got this!! We all love you!!’ Trishelle Cannatella praised Mellencamp as ‘the strongest person,’ while Cynthia Bailey and Meghan King sent supportive messages as well.
Mellencamp also addressed questions regarding her return to the Two Peas In A Pod podcast, which she co-hosts with Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge. Mellencamp explained that while she hopes to return soon, she is prioritizing her health, saying, ‘I’m waiting for my CT scan right now. I’ve seen all your messages, asking when I’m going back to the pod. I don’t actually know. I would assume next week, but I’m listening to what the doctors and my bosses think is best for my brain.’ She added, ‘When you have four brain tumors, you have to protect yourself.’
Mellencamp expressed missing her podcasting duties and her co-hosts, adding, ‘But of course, I miss the pod. I miss chatting with Tam. I miss Erika (Jayne). I miss laughing. I miss watching all those ridiculous shows.#newsafro_
