Daisy May Cooper is said to be engaged to her boyfriend, Anthony Huggins, following a whirlwind romance. The couple, who initially connected on the dating app Hinge, welcomed their first child, a son named Benji, in June, just a year after they moved in together.
Sources have now confirmed that Daisy, 38, and Anthony, 46, are “madly in love” and have shared with close friends and family that they are planning to marry.
Daisy May Cooper seemed to confirm her engagement in a recent Instagram Stories post, where she referred to Anthony Huggins as “her fiancé.” In a video promoting her BBC series Am I Being Unreasonable?, Daisy mentioned her “fit fiancé and baby daddy” Anthony, hinting at his cameo in the show.
An insider shared with The Sun: “Daisy and Anthony are madly in love with each other and are a success story for dating apps.”
Their relationship has reportedly flourished, with Daisy and Anthony already parents to their son, Benji. According to sources, their engagement felt like the natural next step, and both their friends and family are thrilled for them.
When approached for comment, a representative for Daisy declined to provide a statement. Newsafro.com has reached out to representatives for further details.
Anthony, who has two children from a previous relationship, is a DJ in the Bristol nightlife scene, performing under the name ‘Fuse One.’ Daisy, too, has two children—daughter Pip, 7, and son Jack, 4—from her marriage to ex-husband Will Weston.
Following the birth of Benji, Daisy expressed that she does not plan to have more children, citing a traumatic experience with childbirth. She shared with Closer: “No way. Oh my God, it was terrible. It was so scary having him seven weeks premature. I don’t think I’ve quite processed it. It’s one of those things that, five years down the line, I’ll think… ‘F***, how did we get through that?’”
The Am I Being Unreasonable? star gave a lighthearted update on her life since giving birth, joking that her son Benji, who is “fine now,” was a “miserable b******” during his early days. Daisy also shared that her experience navigating new family dynamics has been both “mad” and “amazing.”
She explained: “My partner Ant has two kids from his previous relationship, and obviously I’ve got two kids. They get on so well, and Benji connects all of the children because they’re all brothers and sisters.”
Daisy and Anthony, who met through Hinge, were first spotted together at a car boot sale in Cheltenham, and their first major public appearance as a couple was at the TV BAFTA Awards in May.
In a past interview with Fabulous Magazine, Daisy spoke about her evolving understanding of love, stating, “Now I understand a relationship shouldn’t be rowing at 3am, then walking out and turning your phone off. That’s not what love is. Love is being able to live together on a day-to-day basis, enjoying each other’s company, being completely yourself, and having that accepted.”
She also praised Anthony’s unassuming nature, saying, “He doesn’t want to compete with me. He earns £1,500 a month and he’s the sweetest, kindest, most chilled-out man.”
In an appearance on the Katie Price podcast, Daisy reflected on her relationship with Anthony, saying: “I’m with the same guy I’ve been with for a year and he’s so f****** good for me. He’s so calming and it’s made me realise that I can actually be a f****** good partner, if I have a nice partner in return, if he’s not trying to f****** control me, or compete with me or put me down.”#newsafro_
