Following Paul Danan’s death at the age of 46, some of his final voice notes, in which he discussed his battle with alcohol addiction, have been revealed. In the recordings, Danan opened up about his struggles, reflecting on the toll that addiction had taken on his life. He was candid about the emotional and physical challenges he faced, acknowledging how difficult it was to overcome his demons. The notes offer a glimpse into the actor’s personal battles and have touched many of those who were familiar with his journey, as well as those who admired his work.
It is understood that the former Hollyoaks actor suffered a slip and fall incident at a luxury apartment in the vicinity of Bristol, where he had been residing, on January 15.
Subsequent to the actor’s passing, comedian Dapper Laughs, whose legal name is Daniel O’Reilly, disseminated several voice notes he had shared with the deceased via social media.
The two individuals formed a friendship following their collaboration in a West End play in 2020, during which they would engage in discussions regarding their respective struggles with addiction.
In one voice note shared by Dapper, aged 40, on his TikTok account, Paul was heard reaching out to his friend to inquire about his well-being. Paul stated: “My brother, just thought I’d touch base really, see how you are, how you’re feeling. All that jazz. Your therapist Pauly is here.”
