In a night brimming with feminine energy, cultural pride, and excitement, Doris Ogah, a 26-year-old lawyer and model from the South-south region, was crowned the 45th Miss Nigeria. The grand coronation ceremony, held on December 19, 2024, took place at the Royal Box in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event was a celebration of beauty, intelligence, and cultural heritage, with Ogah standing out among 44 other contestants to claim the prestigious title. She succeeds Shatu Garko, who left a lasting legacy of impact and inspiration during her reign. As the new Miss Nigeria, Ogah now carries the mantle of representing her nation with grace, empowerment, and purpose.
The journey to the Miss Nigeria 2024 crown began with 20 finalists representing various geopolitical zones, which was eventually narrowed down to a top 10 that included Ann Eneanya, Abosede Sorinola, Oluwatofunmi Adekola, Praise Obafemi, Diane Paul, Simeon Obianujuwa, Faith Ogbele, Divine Nelson, Oluwabukumi Ogunsanya, and Doris Ogah.
In a thought-provoking question-and-answer session, the contestants were asked how they would use their platform to address the challenges faced by Nigerian youths. This question led to the advancement of Ann Eneanya, Divine Nelson, Diane Paul, Oluwabukumi Ogunsanya, and Doris Ogah to the final five. After another round of engaging responses, the judges crowned Doris Ogah as Miss Nigeria 2024.
The evening was a celebration of culture and talent, beginning with a vibrant cultural attire showcase. The contestants then performed a remix of the Nigerian National Anthem through dance, followed by an electrifying musical performance by Kcee.
