Khloé Kardashian revealed why she and her two young children are skipping the legendary Kardashian Christmas Eve bash this year. She explained that, due to personal reasons, they chose to forgo the event and spend the holiday season in a more low-key way.
The annual Kardashian Christmas Eve celebration, originally hosted by Kris Jenner in 1987, has transformed from a small family gathering into a glamorous, star-studded affair. In recent years, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian have alternated hosting duties, each bringing extravagant themes, luxurious decor, and an A-list guest list to the festive event.
This year, Khloé Kardashian and her children—True, 6, and Tatum, 2, whom she shares with ex Tristan Thompson—are unable to attend the Christmas Eve celebration due to illness.
On Instagram, she shared, “Tatum was sick the entire weekend, now my TuTu is sick. For the first time in a long, long time, we will miss Christmas Eve. I feel so terrible for my sick littles.”
She added, “No fun, but I pray we are fine for Santa tomorrow!!!”
Kim Kardashian recently revealed that this year’s Christmas Eve party would be a more “low-key” affair compared to previous years. She explained that the gathering would be “a little more intimate” due to ongoing “construction” work.
Speaking to Vogue, Kim Kardashian explained, “Just because we have a lot of construction going on, so we’re doing a really family intimate one that I’m really excited about.”
Despite the more subdued setting, she made it clear that the family would still be dressing up in style, adding, “Still dressing up to the nines, because that’s what we do.”
The Skims founder, who shares children North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5, with ex-husband Kanye West, noted that the parties have become so legendary that even their children’s friends wish they could attend. Kim is determined to keep the festive family tradition alive.
