Georgia, the wife of I’m A Celebrity contestant Danny Jones, has disclosed her husband’s greatest fear, which he had previously concealed from the show’s producers. She further shared the heartfelt motivation behind his decision to participate in the ITV program.
During her appearance at Action for Children’s Secret Santa’s Giving Grotto, Georgia, 37, expressed the profound impact Danny’s participation in I’m A Celebrity has had on her and their six-year-old son, Cooper. In an interview with The Mirror, she disclosed the advice she offered to Danny before he entered the jungle: “I told him to just be himself and not to worry about anything. I said, ‘Just go in there and be you,’ and he has.”
Throughout this year’s series, Danny, 38, has confronted his fears and participated in several challenging trials, including jumping from a helicopter and taking part in the first-ever BushTucker Trial in the show’s opening episode.Georgia shared that Danny has embraced these challenges for the sake of their son, Cooper, explaining that he wanted to “make Cooper proud” and demonstrate that “even if you’re frightened, you can still be brave.” She added that Cooper is in total admiration of his father’s courage, especially since he is aware of Danny’s fear of creepy crawlies.
Georgia confessed, “Cooper knows that Danny is scared of a lot of things – he hates creepy crawlies, eating challenges, and things like that. I’m the one who handles any rescuing in the house – if there’s a spider, it’s my job!” While Georgia and Cooper have been catching up on the show, the young boy is beginning to miss his father. She explained, “He’s loving it but is definitely missing him now.”
The separation won’t last much longer, as friends and family, including Danny’s mother, Kathy, have already started to arrive. Former Miss England, Georgia, and Cooper are set to fly to Australia in the coming days to support Danny.
This comes after Georgia shared a deeply emotional Instagram video earlier in the week, where she broke down in tears, admitting that she is finding it “stressful” without Danny by her side.
Since the McFly star departed for Australia over two weeks ago, Georgia has been managing things at home and taking care of Cooper.
In a candid and emotional video, Georgia opened up about her struggles, visibly moved as she spoke to her followers. Despite her emotions, she expressed her desire for Danny, 38, to remain in the jungle for as long as possible. She shared, “So I’m a bit of an emotional one today, I think it’s just been bubbling.
“Obviously, moving house on its own is stressful, and then working at the same time, solo parenting, and having a husband in a jungle… I think today it’s just kind of come to a head. The last thing I want to do is not be my authentic self, which is what my Instagram is.
“I show real life, I show who I am, I show the ups and downs, the highs and lows, so that you guys feel less lonely with anything that you might be struggling with.”
