This appearance followed her revealing on The Drew Barrymore Show that she experienced a “mental breakdown” leading up to her 25th birthday on November 10. She shared, “I was freaking out before. I would just go about my day and then descend into some sort of breakdown… I’d be stressing about something random, then suddenly realize, ‘And I’m turning 25 too!’ It would just hit me.”
However, when the day arrived, Shipka felt “great,” explaining, “It was just the lead-up that made me freak out a little bit. But I’m happy to be 25.”
In a past interview with TheTalks, she reflected on being labeled “wise beyond my years,” but as she grew older, she began to feel “younger.” She explained, “I started to feel very professional at a young age, but then dealing with other life experiences was totally new to me. It was definitely unconventional.”
Shipka also shared a humorous holiday incident with People, recalling an evening of heavy drinking with friends that left her waking up with a facial injury. “I had a massive hump on my nose,” she said, describing how her nose “literally went out a little and then back in.” While unsure of how it happened, she confirmed it “lasted a couple of weeks.”
