Kanye West‘s new mansion in Beverly Hills, valued at $35 million, has recently been showcased, marking a significant upgrade following the sale of his Malibu property, which was described as a “bomb shelter.” The new estate boasts luxurious features and expansive grounds, reflecting West’s unique style and taste.
This move comes after he sold the Malibu home for a considerably reduced price, indicating a strategic shift in his real estate investments. The Beverly Hills property promises to be a more fitting residence for the rapper and fashion mogul, aligning with his public persona and lifestyle.
Kanye West’s new Beverly Hills mansion, purchased for $35 million, showcases a lavish lifestyle in an exclusive neighborhood. Spanning 20,000 square feet, the estate features 11 bedrooms and 18 bathrooms, set on nearly seven acres in North Beverly Park, a gated community known for its celebrity residents. A-list neighbors include Adele, Denzel Washington, and Sofia Vergara.
This acquisition follows the sale of his Malibu home, which he sold for around $21 million—60% less than its original purchase price. The Malibu property was previously stripped down to resemble a “bomb shelter,” reflecting West’s unique design choices amid ongoing divorce rumors related to his marriage with Yeezy architect Bianca Censori.
The new home also includes a dedicated pavilion for entertaining, enhancing the luxurious feel of the estate. West’s move into Beverly Park places him among numerous other high-profile figures who have lived in the area, such as Sylvester Stallone and Justin Bieber.
Kanye West’s new Beverly Hills mansion boasts a luxurious outdoor space, complete with cascading waterfalls and separate pool areas. The property also features a pool house, gazebo, and a paddle tennis court, enhancing its appeal for both relaxation and entertainment.
Previously, West acquired a beachfront mansion in Malibu for $57.3 million after his divorce from Kim Kardashian in 2022. However, he sold this property on September 26 for approximately $21 million to real estate investment firm Belwood Investments. This sale came after West had gutted the home, originally designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, in an attempt to convert it into a “bomb shelter.”
Reports indicate that West had stripped the Malibu mansion of its plumbing, electricity, windows, and doors, and even hired a laborer from New Jersey to assist in the demolition. The goal was to create what he described as a “bomb shelter” and his personal “Batcave.” Belwood Investments plans to fully restore the concrete fortress, which had been heavily modified under West’s ownership.
In September 2023, sources reported that Kanye West intended to transform his Malibu mansion into a “bomb shelter from the 1910s,” aiming to remove windows and electricity while demolishing marble bathrooms and plumbing. His vision included replacing stairs with slides, creating a secluded retreat where he could “hide from the Clintons and the Kardashians.”
Tony Saxon, the project’s former manager, filed a lawsuit against West, alleging he was dismissed after raising concerns about the project’s safety. Saxon noted that West preferred a dark environment with only plants, candles, and battery-operated lights, seeking a unique atmosphere.
Ultimately, the ambitious remodel proved unrealistic, leading West and his then-newlywed wife, Bianca Censori, to abandon the project. The mansion was listed for sale at $53 million, later reduced to $39 million in April. Following the sale, divorce rumors began to circulate, suggesting that West and Censori were experiencing challenges in their marriage after less than two years together.
