Music producer Samklef has shared his thoughts on the recent conflict between singer Davido and content creator Korty. Samklef, known for his outspoken opinions on industry issues, suggested that Davido might be partly to blame for the dispute. The rift reportedly began after Korty claimed Davido had agreed to appear on her show but failed to follow through, leading to public disappointment.
Samklef commented on the situation, stating that Davido’s actions may have been unintentional but still highlighted the importance of communication, especially for high-profile artists. He pointed out that when artists like Davido commit to projects or appearances, they create expectations, and failure to meet these can lead to backlash. Samklef’s input reflects broader concerns about accountability and respect within the entertainment industry, with fans calling for more consistency from celebrities when collaborating with creators.
The ongoing debate has sparked conversations online about the pressures on artists to keep commitments amid their busy schedules and the impact on rising creators who look up to them.
On October 27, 2024, music producer Samklef took to X to defend content creator Korty amid her publicized dispute with Davido over an unreleased interview. The conflict began when Korty disclosed that she had filmed an interview with Davido, but despite editing it per his team’s requests, she was later instructed not to release it. This disclosure sparked a significant reaction online, with Korty quickly trending on social media, drawing both support and criticism.
Reacting to a post that defended Davido’s efforts to help others, Samklef questioned why Davido seemed to receive more backlash compared to artists like Olamide, whom he argued had quietly helped more people without facing similar criticism. Samklef suggested that Davido’s approach to helping others—doing so “based on expectation” and for public validation—might be contributing to the scrutiny he faces. He wrote, “Olamide has helped a lot of people than Davido. Why are people not disrespecting him? Davido brought it on himself. This is what happens when you are always trying to look good in the eyes of everybody. You dey help based on expectation.”
In a separate post, Samklef encouraged Korty to release the interview without Davido’s consent, pledging his support for her: “If I be Korty, I go release the podcast. Don’t let them bully you. Samklef go fight for you.” He asked for Korty’s handle, indicating his readiness to advocate for her.
Korty’s earlier frustrations, where she criticized artists who prevented her from sharing interviews, highlighted her growing disillusionment with artists who, after filming, reconsidered or restricted her from publishing their content.
