Nigerian artist Falz recently expressed his lack of knowledge about fellow activist Verydarkman during an interview. He mentioned that while he respects the work of activists, he was not familiar with the specifics of Verydarkman’s activism. Falz emphasized the importance of understanding the motivations and actions of various activists, suggesting that more dialogue and information-sharing are necessary to appreciate each other’s contributions to social causes.
Falz, known for his own activism in Nigeria, particularly against social injustices and governmental corruption, often uses his platform to raise awareness about pressing issues. His comment reflects a broader conversation about the need for unity and collaboration among activists to create a more effective movement for change.
Nigerian rapper Falz has responded to social media personality VeryDarkman’s recent comments about him, clarifying that he was not familiar with VeryDarkman’s work before the incident. In an appearance on the Afrobeats Podcast, Falz admitted, “I don’t know much about his activism; I’d be honest with you. Prior to the first video where he mentioned me and my dad, I hadn’t seen much of him.” He acknowledged that he had only heard about VeryDarkman’s activism related to unregistered skincare vendors in Nigeria, which he viewed positively at the time.
Falz explained that he remembered VeryDarkman’s focus on combating the sale of bleaching products lacking proper NAFDAC numbers, calling it “a good cause.” However, he admitted, “I haven’t seen much of his work” since then. His remarks come amidst an ongoing legal battle between Falz, his father Femi Falana, and VeryDarkman, stemming from defamatory statements made by the latter.
Regarding VeryDarkman’s allegations, Falz expressed his outrage, stating, “This person thought it wise to turn on his ring light and fire direct statements, insinuations, and innuendoes, alleging that myself and my dad connived to manipulate justice and bribe the EFCC.” He further criticized the baseless nature of the claims, including suggestions of a homosexual relationship with Bobrisky and questioning his activism. “How can you just come and allege all these things without proof?” he questioned, highlighting the seriousness of the accusations.
