Rapper Boosie Badazz is facing a felony charge after being accused of striking a nightclub bouncer with a glass hookah base during an incident in Houston.
According to court documents obtained by Newsafro.com, the alleged altercation took place at Dome nightclub on May 24 as the venue was closing. Security officer Edward Iglehart says he was clearing patrons when a dispute broke out with a female clubgoer who wanted to use the restroom after closing time.
Iglehart claims the situation escalated when the woman allegedly elbowed him in the face while he attempted to escort her out. During the process, she reportedly dropped her keys and phone, and as he bent down to retrieve them, he says he was suddenly struck on the head by an object.
The security guard alleges he turned around and saw Boosie holding a broken glass hookah base, which he believes was used in the attack. He sustained a head injury that required medical treatment, including eight staples at a nearby hospital.
Reports also indicate that club owners and promoters told police the woman involved in the incident is Boosie’s niece, though authorities have not publicly confirmed that detail.
Boosie is scheduled to appear in Harris County court, where prosecutors are reportedly seeking an $85,000 bond. His attorney has not yet issued a public response to the allegations.#newsafro_
