Pop star Sabrina Carpenter has obtained a temporary restraining order against a man she claims repeatedly showed up at her Los Angeles home, including one visit less than 24 hours after he was arrested there.
According to legal documents obtained by Newsafro.com, Carpenter’s legal team filed for protection against 31-year-old William Applegate, alleging he appeared at her residence uninvited on May 23. In her court filing, the singer described his behavior as deliberate and alarming, claiming he attempted to open her front door before ringing the doorbell.
The petition reportedly includes images captured by Carpenter’s Ring camera, showing a man standing at her front entrance. Carpenter says her security team confronted him, but he refused to leave and allegedly claimed to know her, despite her insistence that they had never met or communicated.
Police were ultimately called to the scene, and Carpenter says the man was arrested. However, she alleges he returned to her property the following day and appeared again on May 25, prompting another response from law enforcement.
In her declaration, Carpenter stated that Applegate is a complete stranger and that she has no desire to have any contact with him.
A judge has since granted a temporary restraining order requiring the man to stay away from Carpenter, her sister Sarah, and Sarah’s boyfriend, George. A court hearing is scheduled later this month to determine whether the order should be extended into a permanent restraining order.#newsafro_
