WWE superstar Cody Rhodes is ready to take wrestling to new heights — or rather, out to sea. While combat sports continue embracing unique venues, with boxing events staged near Egypt’s pyramids and MMA reportedly heading to the White House, Rhodes has his own ambitious idea for WWE. The “American Nightmare” recently told Newsafro.com Sports that he’d love to see a match take place aboard a decommissioned aircraft carrier, drawing inspiration from one of wrestling’s most memorable moments.
During a fan meet-and-greet in New York City, Rhodes reflected on the legendary 1993 USS Intrepid event, where Lex Luger famously body-slammed Yokozuna. Rhodes said recreating that kind of spectacle would be a dream scenario and a unique way to give fans an unforgettable experience.
The WWE star also touched on the New York Knicks’ surprising run to the NBA Finals, jokingly attributing part of their success to the influence of wrestling personality Danhausen.
Beyond wrestling, Rhodes is preparing for a major Hollywood moment. He briefly discussed his role in the upcoming film adaptation of Street Fighter, teasing that audiences are in for a treat when the movie arrives in theaters later this year.
Between dreaming up unforgettable WWE events and stepping onto the big screen, Rhodes appears determined to keep expanding his legacy both inside and outside the ring.#newsafro_
