Anna Delvey is once again stepping into the spotlight — this time by taking control of her own narrative.
The former “fake heiress,” whose real name is Anna Sorokin, is currently developing both a memoir and a companion documentary that will trace her life story in full, from her early years to her rise to global notoriety and everything that has followed.
Speaking about the project, Anna says it won’t simply retell the well-known headlines of her fraud case, but instead will explore a broader and more personal timeline — including her time on Dancing with the Stars and her experience living under house arrest in New York while facing U.S. immigration proceedings.
She also hopes the project challenges the idea that a public scandal defines a person forever. As she puts it, there’s a tendency for the internet to “freeze” someone at their most infamous moment, while real life continues to evolve behind the scenes.
Anna says a significant portion of her memoir is already in progress, and she’s intentionally framing it as more than just a crime story. Instead, she describes it as an exploration of media perception, ambition, reputation, and the modern “economics of attention.”
If the story eventually makes it to the screen, she already has casting ideas in mind — saying she’d love to see Jennifer Lawrence portray her.
After years of being the subject of documentaries, dramatizations, and headlines, Anna says she’s now focused on controlling how her own story is told.#newsafro_
