Keith Urban has been finding solace in music and the company of friends in the months following his high-profile divorce from Nicole Kidman. The country star, 58, and Kidman, 58, ended their nearly 20-year marriage in September 2025, finalizing their split in January 2026. Together, they share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.
Speaking to Page Six at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Urban’s close friend and fellow country artist Russell Dickerson revealed that while he hadn’t spent a lot of time with Urban at the Country to Country music festival, he noticed that Urban “seemed in good spirits.” Dickerson said, “He’s always been focused on music, and so I think he’s just kind of doubling down on that, and it’s just beautiful. I can’t wait to hear what comes out of it.”
Urban’s focus on music comes amid public speculation about Kidman’s personal life, including rumors that she is dating Simon Baker, her co-star in the Amazon Prime Video thriller series Scarpetta. The pair were reportedly seen holding hands at the show’s premiere in New York City, prompting reports that Urban was “devastated” by how quickly Kidman appears to be moving on. An insider told Woman’s Day, “Seeing Nicole and Simon holding hands was the equivalent of seeing his best mate with his missus… it did a number on him.”
Despite these challenges, Urban has been leaning on his music and friendships to navigate life post-divorce. Friends describe him as focusing on his craft and maintaining a positive outlook, using his art as a source of healing while he adjusts to a new chapter in his life.#newsafro_
