Tucker Carlson says the CIA read his private text messages with people in Iran and is attempting to have him investigated as a foreign agent.
The conservative commentator made the claim in a video posted Saturday on the social media platform X, alleging that the CIA is preparing a criminal referral to the U.S. Department of Justice related to conversations he had before the recent tensions involving Iran.
Carlson said he believes the agency is building a case against him under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, which requires individuals who work politically on behalf of foreign governments to register with the U.S. government.
According to Carlson, the accusation stems from his communications with sources in Iran. He argued that speaking with people in other countries is a normal part of his work as a journalist and commentator.
Carlson firmly denied any connection to the Iranian government, insisting he has never accepted money from a foreign country and has no loyalty to any nation other than the United States.
He also suggested the situation may be politically motivated, noting that he has faced criticism for his commentary on U.S. and Israeli policies involving Iran.
So far, neither the Central Intelligence Agency nor the United States Department of Justice has publicly confirmed Carlson’s allegations.#newsafro_
