Kylie Jenner paid an emotional tribute to her late hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero, on the first anniversary of his passing at age 34.
On Sunday, the 28-year-old Kylie Cosmetics founder shared a black-and-white photo via Instagram Story, simply captioned: “222 I miss you.” The understated message reflected the deep bond she shared with Guerrero, who had been a longtime member of her glam team.
Last August, on what would have been his birthday, Jenner also honored him with a small cake and a heartfelt message, writing: “Not a day goes by that we don’t think about you @jesushair… you’re forever loved and missed.”
Guerrero died unexpectedly last year. His family later confirmed that the cause of death was pneumonia and a fungal infection related to underlying health complications. In the period leading up to his passing, he had reportedly experienced concerning symptoms.
Jenner, along with fellow client Jennifer Lopez, attended his Celebration of Life in Houston, Texas, on March 30. According to Guerrero’s younger sister, Gris, Jenner offered to cover funeral expenses and provided additional support to the family during the difficult time. Funds raised through a GoFundMe campaign were used to transport his belongings home and settle related expenses.
In her original tribute last year, Jenner described Guerrero as “more than my friend — he was a light in my life,” adding that his presence helped her navigate nearly a decade of personal and professional milestones. “He had a way of making even the heaviest days feel lighter,” she wrote.
Guerrero’s client list extended across the entertainment industry, including stars such as Katy Perry, Rosalía, Demi Moore, Dua Lipa, and Jessica Alba, many of whom also shared tributes remembering his artistry and warmth.
Jenner continues to honor Guerrero’s legacy while balancing her professional commitments and personal life, including supporting her partner, Timothée Chalamet, during awards season appearances.#newsafro_
