A contractor has sought to call Kanye West’s spouse, Bianca Censori, as a witness in ongoing litigation arising from a Malibu property renovation project.
According to court filings initially submitted in 2023, Tony Saxon has petitioned a Los Angeles court to compel Censori to testify in the labour-related dispute. While the precise basis for identifying her as a prospective witness has not been expressly detailed in the filings, a 2024 report by The New Yorker indicated that she may have previously acted as an intermediary in connection with the project.
The dispute concerns an arrangement allegedly entered into in September 2021, following West’s acquisition of an oceanfront Malibu residence reportedly valued at over $57 million. Saxon asserts that he was engaged to perform multiple roles, including project management, property caretaking, and security services, in furtherance of extensive renovations requested by West.
In his pleadings, Saxon contends that he worked up to 16 hours per day and, at times, slept on-site to maintain project timelines. He further alleges that the working relationship deteriorated approximately two months into the engagement, in November 2021, after he raised objections to certain renovation directives.
Among the contested instructions, Saxon claims West ordered the demolition of marble bathrooms and the removal of plumbing, windows, and electrical systems. He further alleges that he cautioned against relocating large generators inside the residence due to potential fire hazards. According to the complaint, West responded with threats, allegedly stating that Saxon would be deemed “an enemy” if he failed to comply, and that he would no longer work for him.
Saxon maintains that, after expressing disagreement and indicating he did not watch television in response to an alleged remark by West, he was terminated and instructed to vacate the premises immediately.
Representatives for West and Censori have reportedly been contacted for comment. The matter is scheduled to return to court later this month.#newsafro_
